BJ's Bar has been on my to-do list for a while. It's been in Florissant since 1955! Obviously I went for the pizza. We ordered a large pepperoni with 1/2 bacon. The woman who brought it to us said it's her mothers' recipe. The crust is nice and flaky and they use mozzarella cheese. I liked the crust a lot. It's a bit thicker than your basic St Louis style and a completely different texture. I realize the pizza looks black in the photos but I didn't think that it tasted burnt at all. I do prefer a well done pizza. I didn't care for the bacon they used. It was like bacon bits. This place gives new meaning to the term "dive bar." Anyone want to go back?
We like the vibe and the staff is very nice! Highly recommend! The food is good. The crust on the pizza is great, but the sauce is lacking it could use some flavor. I would highly recommend this place!
Wow - Went into pickup a pizza and could barely recognize the place. Seemed like many decades of grime and clutter had vanished. The pizza was phenomenal and the cook was very pleasant and professional. I'm not sure what changes have been made in ownership but the experience will have me coming back soon.
Owner was delightful and would visit again. We will be back to try their pizza. Great location as well.
First time there. Clean! Seat yourself. Ordered their deluxe pizza, hold the green peppers and an appetizer of fried mushrooms from the corner order booth. They only have a few tables and when the food is ready, it's boxed to go. Ordered some ice cold Bud Lites from a friendly bartender and waited. Toppings were ample, crust was crispy, pizza was very good. Trip was worth the the 35 mile drive and will go back
All I can say is...ice cold beer, great pizza - and its an icon. Enjoy yourself and savor a landmark establishment.
